Introduction to this Site |
This site is in the early stages of development and it links to my more descriptive site at rprawson.net.
The Rawson and Redenbach families first came together when Paula Jean Redenbach and I met at Creswick in 1967. Both families have a strong connection to Gippsland in Victoria. The Bairnsdale region, and Tambo Upper on the Tambo River north of Swan Reach in particular, was the focus for the Redenbachs who settled to Australia in the middle of the nineteenth Century, while the goldfields of the Walhalla region were the focus for the Rawson family which arrived around the same time.
The earliest Redenbach of whom I am aware is Christoph Peter Redenbach, born abt 1795 in Bavaria, and the earliest Rawson is John Rawson born in 1764 in Yorkshire. Descendant charts for both these men are on this page.
